Piraeus Bank’s social commitment
This initiative is being carried out through the bank’s EQUALL Corporate Responsibility programme. Through this move, Piraeus Bank puts into practice its ongoing commitment to promoting cultural activities across regional Greece, while providing tangible support to artists and ensuring that island residents and visitors alike have equal access to high-quality cultural events.
This year’s festival centres on the theme of “Upheavals”, exploring art both as a response to the historical, social, and human shifts that disrupt the continuity of the world around us, and as an inner creative force that gives rise to new forms, new languages, and new modes of expression.
Under the artistic direction of its founder, Kornilios Michailidis, the Festival highlights the unique relationship between music and the Aegean landscape, welcoming internationally acclaimed artists, prominent Greek performers, and rising soloists.
Beyond the six scheduled concerts — in which 21 musicians from Greece and abroad will participate — the Festival is also launching the International Summer Academy of Rhythmology as a new pillar, with the aim of attracting young musicians, students, and professionals from around the world.
Throughout the duration of the Festival, the venue will also host a visual arts exhibition featuring works by Alexandros Simopoulos, in collaboration with Iris Gallery and Tryfon Art Residency.

Investing in the next generation through educational programmes
Also continuing for its fourth consecutive year is the music education programme for children on the island, which runs throughout the year and makes a meaningful contribution to the musical education and cultural development of the younger generation within the local community.
All activities held as part of the Koufonisia Classical Music Festival (https://koufonisiaclassical.com/) are free and open to the public.
