The need for comprehensive mobilization and battle formation was confirmed in today’s Political Council session, according to a related announcement after the end of the meeting with the strategic goal of political change that can only come through PASOK’s victory, as decided at the congress. PASOK-Movement for Change’s Political Council confirmed once again that “the political opponent is New Democracy and its policies” and that “PASOK will respond to every challenge from wherever it comes, defending its positions and trajectory.”
At the same time, the party is placing itself in electoral readiness as “it was decided to establish 8 political circles with participation of officials from the Parliamentary Group, the Political Council and the Movement’s Policy Sectors,” PASOK states in the announcement and adds: “Within this framework, the political coordination groups will collaborate with the heads of Parliamentary Working Sectors, the corresponding Policy Sectors, party organs and Movement officials, with the aim of forming unified political intervention, strengthening PASOK’s social presence and developing initiatives that will bring our program into direct contact with citizens’ needs and concerns.
Additionally, the schedule of regional council meetings was finalized starting Tuesday, June 9, as well as the formation of electoral campaign committees at county and municipal levels subsequently. In the battle formation, Political Council members, MPs and officials will have specific roles and responsibilities in each electoral district,” the Political Council decision states.
