Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu described the security agreement signed today with Greece — known as “Achilles Shield” — as “one of the largest deals in Israel’s history,” in a post on his official X account. The Israeli Prime Minister noted that the agreement represents a continuation of the strategic alliance in the Eastern Mediterranean, which, as he stated, Israel forged approximately a decade ago together with Greece and Cyprus.

In his post, Netanyahu emphasized the significance of the new agreement in strengthening security cooperation between the two countries, as well as in further consolidating Israel’s regional alliances. He also argued that the deal serves as yet another demonstration of the remarkable capabilities of Israel’s defense and technology industries, highlighting their standing in international defense partnerships.
“This move reflects Israel’s strength, confidence in our defense exports, and the strengthening of regional alliances,” the Israeli Prime Minister stated.
