Authorities carried out a surprise search Thursday afternoon at the medical clinic on Karneadou Street in Kolonaki, where Giorgos Mazonakis lost his life. Developments stemming from toxicology results and employee testimonies prompted the examining magistrate to order a thorough re-examination of the premises. The officers handling the case spent two hours at the clinic, conducting the search in the presence of a prosecutor and the lawyers representing both detained physicians.

Mazonakis death: Vials found at the Karneadou clinic — what they contain
According to Star channel, investigators discovered two vials that appear to have contained Anexate — the antidote to midazolam, the first sedative substance administered to the singer. The blanket used to cover Giorgos Mazonakis and an intravenous catheter have not yet been located, while nothing of significance was found in the accused doctor’s office. The defense lawyers for the accused, however, have stated that the search was conducted in order to clear and release the premises back to the landlord, as the doctors had requested to no longer bear the financial burden of the space.
Meanwhile, according to ERT, this was the third consecutive search of the specific clinic. The previous search had taken place in early September, during which police authorities seized documents and digital files deemed useful to the progress of the investigation. Toxicology results are also still pending and are considered critical to shedding light on the case.
