“There is not a shred of truth” to reports suggesting that Donald Trump is considering reducing Diddy’s prison sentence as early as this week, a White House official stated on Wednesday (10/22). On Monday (10/20), American entertainment website TMZ reported that the US president was “hesitant” about whether to reduce the music mogul’s sentence, citing a “high-ranking White House official.”
White House: “There is no truth to the report”
“There is no truth to the TMZ report, something we would have gladly explained if they had contacted us before spreading their fake news,” the official stated.
Trump, “not anonymous sources, is the one who ultimately decides on pardons and sentence reductions,” the same official added.
It should be noted that Sean “Diddy” Combs was sentenced to 50 months in prison and fined $500,000 at a hearing on October 3, after being found guilty of human trafficking across the US for participation in sexual encounters — involving both his companions and sex workers.
Earlier this week, the 55-year-old’s legal team filed a legal document formally signaling their intention to appeal.
