Prepaid card payment system
The OPEKA benefits payment method follows a specific methodology. 50% of the total amount is credited to the beneficiary’s prepaid card, while the remaining amount is available in cash. The card operates without additional charges and is accepted throughout Greece as well as in European Union member states. However, there are restrictions on card usage, as purchasing weapons or participating in gambling is not permitted.
Benefits from accelerated payments
The early disbursement of benefits serves multiple objectives. Primarily, it provides immediate financial relief to households facing difficulties, particularly during the summer period. Additionally, the prepaid card system enhances transaction transparency and accelerates clearing procedures. This OPEKA strategy significantly reduces operational costs and creates an efficiency model for future management of the country’s welfare resources.
