Regarding the opposition’s reactions, Sofia Voultepsi took a stance following her recent comments about European Prosecutor Laura Kovesi. “In a state of absolute panic, PASOK and SYRIZA prove daily that they don’t care about the truth, but thirst for blood,” emphasized the Deputy Minister of Migration and Asylum.

“My article in the newspaper ‘to Manifesto’ is based exclusively on information from the Romanian press, mainly the newspaper ‘Libertatea’. It’s the same newspaper that published the interview with European Prosecutor Laura Kovesi, where she harshly criticizes her own homeland and barely mentions Greece, and this along with other countries,” Sofia Voultepsi also emphasized.
“However, the opposition with its announcements had just a few days ago highlighted only ten out of over 5,000 words from that interview,” she added.
“They do not constitute incriminating evidence”
“The dialogues I refer to are conveyed exactly as published in the Romanian press and obviously prove that third-party references to individuals do not constitute incriminating evidence. From the article, it clearly emerges that members of the criminal organization used Ms. Kovesi’s name to blackmail their victim,” she subsequently underlined.
“But that’s not their problem. Their problem is that developments in Romania disrupt their narrative, particularly on the day they would very much like the discussion to focus only on their beloved ‘Politico’ article. They neither care about the European Prosecutor, whom they also use as it suits them. But lies have short legs. This was proven in the Novartis case, when they pursued ten political figures and let the crimes of the real culprits expire under statute of limitations,” Sofia Voultepsi noted.
“And one more thing: This is the first time a publication is being denounced not for its content, but for its… title. Mr. Theodorakis of SYRIZA and Mr. Tsoukalas of PASOK should be better informed about how the press operates, which is their field (supposedly),” the same announcement emphasizes.
