Marking the fifth anniversary of the signing of the Exclusive Economic Zone (EEZ) delimitation agreement with Egypt, Defense Minister Nikos Dendias emphasized in a post on X that this agreement protected national interests while adhering to international law and specifically the law of the sea.
“Five years since the signing of the EEZ delimitation agreement with Egypt, through which we secured our national interests, with respect for international law and international maritime law,” he specifically stated, noting:
“An agreement that sent the message that Greece constitutes a force for security and stability in the region, does not threaten the rights of other countries, does not make illegal agreements, nor does it force other countries into leonine agreements.”
