Voula crash: Taxi driver released on bail — “I didn’t see the no-turn sign,” he claimed
Meanwhile, the 32-year-old taxi driver was released following the completion of his court testimony. By order of the investigating magistrate and prosecutor, the defendant was placed under restrictive conditions requiring him to report to his local police station once a month, while his driving licence was revoked indefinitely. According to sources, the 32-year-old denied the charge of dangerous driving during his testimony. “I didn’t see the sign prohibiting the turn. My GPS changed the route at the last moment and I was misled. I activated my indicator, believing the turn was permitted. Before changing lanes, I checked my mirror, but I didn’t see any vehicle at that point,” he is reported to have told the magistrate.
