The Independent Market Control and Consumer Protection Authority has imposed new administrative penalties totaling €389,339 following inspections related to both compliance with permitted gross profit margin limits and the circulation of counterfeit products. According to the Authority’s announcement, the inspections are part of its ongoing operational action to protect consumers, combat unfair commercial practices, and ensure the smooth functioning of the market.
Specifically, a fine of €309,339 was imposed on the company TOTTIS BINGO AEBE after inspectors found that the permitted Gross Profit Margin had been exceeded across 33 product codes in the chocolate confectionery category. The violations cover the period from March 13 to April 3, 2026, and were deemed contrary to the provisions of current legislation.
In a separate action, an inspection carried out at a warehouse in the Municipality of Dafni led to the seizure and subsequent destruction of 6,341 units of counterfeit accessories. Administrative fines totaling €80,000 were imposed in connection with this case.
