Following his intervention the previous day regarding the “recycling kiosks” controversy, Adonis Georgiadis returned to the issue with a new post, insisting that no scandal has emerged and arguing that the public debate surrounding the affair is rooted in political rivalry and clashing commercial interests. The Health Minister stated emphatically that “no scandal involving the Green Kiosks exists,” claiming that the allegations that have been made rely on the findings of the EDEL report and have led, as he contends, to the deliberate misinformation of the public.
At the same time, Mr. Georgiadis directed a pointed question at PASOK leader Nikos Androulakis regarding his party’s stance on the “Green Kiosks” allegations. “Mr. President, do you stand by the video you posted, in which you endorsed all the relevant allegations about the ‘green kiosks’ that are based on this EDEL report?” he wrote in his post.
The minister set a noon deadline for PASOK to respond, warning that he would subsequently release documents from the case file. He claimed these documents demonstrate “how easily public opinion can be manipulated,” while launching a fierce broadside against the main opposition party.

As I told you yesterday — and I noted that post reached tens of thousands of readers and generated a huge number of responses — for a long time now I had been hearing and reading about the so-called “scandal” involving the “Green Kiosks” and the company Texan, and I had decided to stay out of it. As Minister of Development and Investment, despite Mr. Filippakis of @DimokratiaGr’s eagerness to drag me into this as well, I had no involvement whatsoever, other than commissioning an opinion from one of the Big 4 firms to assess whether the price that had been offered was competitive — and I did that in order to investigate certain complaints at the time. It should be noted that the report stated clearly, with supporting data from around the world, that the price was entirely advantageous for the public sector. That report is part of the ESPA service file, and I imagine the European Public Prosecutor’s Office, which is also scouring this case for the great scandal, will find it there — either way, the procurement tenders were not conducted by the Government but by regional and municipal authorities, and so, as usual, the Government’s involvement is being invoked for the usual opposition political purposes. When I used to read about it, I’d tell myself: “not this one too…” and kept myself out of the fuss. However, a few days ago, when I saw this video by @androulakisnick https://instagram.com/reel/DY_rb1bEobE/?igsh=MWw3bGJ6Ymc5OWsybw== I changed my mind. I regrettably realized I had to engage, because once again they are trying to construct a narrative of scandal and corruption, and I will say it again: no Government in the past has taken as many measures in favor of transparency and against corruption as the current Government of @kmitsotakis. The image that has taken hold in public opinion — one we have allowed to form through our own communications inertia — is deeply unfair.
Having looked into it, I have now formed a complete and fully informed opinion, and I am telling you plainly: NO scandal involving the Green Kiosks exists. What you have been hearing all this time is a combination of clashing commercial interests and political point-scoring. The price was reviewed multiple times through every mechanism available to the public sector at the appropriate stages, and all procedures of the International Lowest-Bid Tender were followed to the letter — not because I say so, but because the Court of Audit has examined and ruled on the matter, and therefore no challenge on that front can stand.
You might reasonably ask: “Then how did the EDEL (Financial Audit Committee) report emerge, the one that speaks of overpricing by €60,000–€90,000 etc.?”
A fair question — and so today I am opening this story with a direct question to @pasok and to its President, who raised this issue so forcefully and made it his own….

I will wait for PASOK’s response until noon. Around that time, I will publish what I found inside the case file — to show you just how easily public opinion can be manipulated, and what a farcical opposition PASOK unfortunately is for our country.
