Greek Prime Minister Kyriakos Mitsotakis welcomed Cypriot President Nikos Christodoulides at the Maximos Mansion on Saturday, July 25, at 11:00 a.m. The meeting took place against the backdrop of ongoing developments surrounding the Cyprus problem. Earlier, an expanded session was held between the two countries’ government delegations, with the participation of Greek Foreign Minister Giorgos Gerapetritis and his Cypriot counterpart Konstantinos Kombos. The talks focused on the latest developments in the Cyprus issue, with the aim of coordinating both countries’ positions ahead of the arrival of United Nations Secretary-General António Guterres in Nicosia — just 48 hours away.

Mitsotakis: Greece stands by Cyprus ahead of these difficult talks
In their opening remarks before cameras, the Greek Prime Minister emphasized, among other things, that “Greece-Cyprus coordination is more timely than ever.” “We are meeting at an exceptionally critical juncture, and our coordination is therefore more crucial than ever,” he stated.
“There is significant momentum. After 20 years, the UN Secretary-General will be visiting Cyprus. We support your initiatives. This momentum is also linked to the end of the Secretary-General’s term, which adds a sense of urgency. Greece stands by Cyprus ahead of these difficult talks,” the Prime Minister said during his meeting with Nikos Christodoulides.
