A temporary traffic disruption occurred early Wednesday morning on Iera Odos, near Aigaleo, after a truck fell into a manhole, causing significant damage to the road surface and opening a hole of approximately one square meter.
The incident took place in the early morning hours in the lane heading toward Kifissos Avenue. To ensure driver safety, traffic police immediately enforced a temporary road closure and diverted vehicles, initially from the junction at Naxou Street and subsequently from the intersection of Iera Odos and Marconi Street.
Emergency crews rushed to the scene to recover the truck, which was successfully removed shortly after 6:00 a.m.
However, due to the damage left in the road surface, one traffic lane remains closed. Drivers are urged to exercise extreme caution when passing through the affected area.
