Training exercises involving guided missile (GM) launches by the Hellenic Navy were conducted on Tuesday, June 23, in the broader area of the southern Ionian Sea, in the presence of the Chief of the Hellenic National Defence General Staff, General Dimitrios Houpis, the Chief of the Hellenic Navy General Staff, Vice Admiral Dimitrios-Eleftherios Kataras HN, and the Fleet Commander, Vice Admiral Christos Sasiakos HN. The exercises involved vessels from the Frigate Command (FC), Fast Patrol Boat Command (FPC), Patrol Vessel Command (PVC), and the Naval Commando Command (NCC), as well as Naval Aviation helicopters and assets from the Hellenic Air Force.

Hellenic Navy: Two targets sunk
During the exercises, a large number and wide variety of Hellenic Navy guided missiles were successfully tested across complex and demanding combat scenarios, with the final result being the sinking of two targets.
This activity forms part of the annual operational training programme of Fleet Headquarters units, aimed at evaluating and enhancing combat capability and operational readiness of all participating units, as well as confirming the reliability of Hellenic Navy weapons systems, according to the Hellenic Navy General Staff.
