Greek Police arrested a 32-year-old man in Oropos, following a serious complaint filed by his 31-year-old wife. The case involves an incident of domestic violence with particularly shocking elements, including rape, video recording, and distribution of the material.
The 31-year-old’s complaint to the Police Department
According to reports from Alpha news, the woman filed a complaint after the abuse she suffered on Tuesday, June 9, in front of her 8-year-old son. Her body was covered with burns and cuts from attacks she allegedly received during the previous period from her husband. She had visited the police station several times but had withdrawn the charges. The 32-year-old, in a state of intoxication, beat her once again while recording a video that he posted with the title: “Look and see how she cries.” This time, the couple’s 8-year-old son was a witness, as everything happened in front of him. After the attack, the man went to sleep and then the woman left her home. Shortly after, she went to the police station to file a complaint, while the 32-year-old was searching for her with the child.
The charges and arrest of the perpetrator
Police authorities acted immediately after the complaint was filed. Officers who arrived at the house searched for his mobile phone and according to the report, he had thrown it into the sea, as the couple’s son testified. The reason police searched for his phone was the videos that had been uploaded to social media platforms. Authorities are investigating whether the video from the latest beating has been uploaded, as well as other sexual content that was found on his phone. The alleged perpetrator was arrested for violation of “domestic violence” laws and for violation of “revenge pornography” laws and breach of “personal data protection” legislation.
