Charges against 22-year-old Tyler Robinson, who was arrested last week for the murder of 31-year-old conservative activist Charlie Kirk, during the latter’s speech at Utah Valley University in Orem, are being prepared by American prosecutors. According to a related report by the Associated Press, the charges against Robinson involve first-degree intentional homicide for Kirk’s murder.
However, Utah County prosecutors are considering various charges against Robinson, with the most serious being aggravated murder charges, for which if convicted, Robinson would face the death penalty. It should be noted that in Utah, the last time someone was executed for shooting was in June 2010, when Ronnie Lee Gardner, who had been convicted in 1985 for the murder of a man, was executed by firing squad.
