Emmanuel Macron, Keir Starmer and Friedrich Merz will meet on Sunday, January 7th in London with Volodymyr Zelensky to discuss “support for Ukraine” and “increasing pressure on Russia’s war effort,” the Élysée announced today. The French president, British prime minister and German chancellor will initially hold discussions among themselves before receiving the Ukrainian president. “This meeting will also allow for a review of the work that has been done in favor of a just and sustainable peace in Ukraine and on the European continent, particularly within the framework of the Coalition of the Willing,” added the French presidency in a statement.
“The meeting will allow them to continue their close coordination on our common agenda for continued support to Ukraine and increasing pressure on Russia’s war effort, as Russia faces military, economic and strategic failure and persists unsuccessfully on the front lines in a deadly war,” the statement emphasizes.
