An alarm was raised earlier today (27/5) at Lefkada’s Porto Katsiki beach, when the sea washed up the body of a fully clothed man, prompting immediate response from authorities. Coast Guard personnel rushed to the scene, while with assistance from the Fire Department and EKAB ambulance service, they proceeded to recover the body. The body was transported by ambulance to the local hospital, according to ilefkada.gr
There, the body was identified by relatives of a 67-year-old local resident, who had not reported him missing, as they had seen him in the area until yesterday morning. The cause of death of the unfortunate man has not been disclosed, nor how he ended up in the sea. The body will be transferred for autopsy to Patras.
