The disappearance case of 16-year-old Lora from Patras kept her family and authorities in anguish for 49 days, leaving behind many unanswered questions before reaching a significant first conclusion. Lora disappeared on January 8, 2026, from Rio, Patras, triggering a massive mobilization by authorities. From the early days, police seriously examined the possibility that she had left for abroad.
The initial evidence
Published video footage showed Lora entering a travel agency in Omonia alone, where she purchased a ticket to Frankfurt the same day. According to the evidence, she took a taxi and arrived in Athens, in the Goudi area near the Children’s Hospital, used her passport to buy a ticket from a German airline, and traveled to Germany, where she had lived with her parents before they moved to Greece. On February 9, her mobile phone signal was detected in Berlin, and German authorities began targeted surveillance. After a few weeks, Lora was located on February 26 in a house in Berlin, transferred to a minor protection facility, and Greek authorities handling the case were notified.
Lora’s behavior
According to information, the 16-year-old refused to see her parents and requested not to receive help from Greek authorities. German authorities have not pressured her so far, allowing her to decide what she wants herself. Lora has been found safe, however, many unanswered questions surrounding her disappearance remain. Why does the 16-year-old refuse to see her parents? What happened in the past that led her to make this decision? Were there pressures or fears that were not disclosed? And ultimately, what does her choice to find herself alone abroad mean for her family and for the authorities?
Currently, sources with knowledge of the matter tell parapolitika.gr that the 16-year-old is now in a safe place, with specialists providing her with the necessary care. It is, according to them, the appropriate environment for cases like Lora’s.
