Adonis Georgiadis reiterated that in the case of Giorgos Mazonakis’ death, the state failed to do its job properly — echoing remarks he had already made at the singer’s funeral. “I accept my share of responsibility,” the Health Minister said characteristically during a Monday evening (14/09) appearance on the “HERE” show on One Channel. Georgiadis also addressed the future of New Democracy, the prospects of Kyriakos Mitsotakis, and made pointed remarks about ELAS chief Alexis Tsipras.
Georgiadis on Mazonakis’ death: The state proved it wasn’t doing its job
Speaking in more detail about the death of Giorgos Mazonakis — who passed away at the age of 54 following a plasmapheresis procedure performed at a private clinic in Kolonaki — Georgiadis stated: “The state proved it wasn’t doing its job. I accept my share of responsibility. The regulatory framework has gaps, and we will change that framework.”
The Health Minister also stressed that quantum medicine does not exist. “If you hear anything about alternative medicine, be very careful,” he warned.

Regarding the future direction of the ruling center-right party, Georgiadis remarked: “I’m already fighting to convince Kyriakos Mitsotakis to run for prime minister for a fourth time. We have found a good prime minister — he wins elections. I want Mitsotakis to stay.”
Remarks about Alexis Tsipras
In another part of the interview, the Health Minister turned his attention to Tsipras, questioning what was inside the suitcase brought by a Maduro associate in 2012 “to help him in his political struggle.”
“What was in that suitcase? Underwear? Coffee? He can’t tell us that his middle name is integrity,” Georgiadis said. “Alexis, fight your fight — but don’t take us for fools,” he added, referring to the ELAS chief and characterizing him as money-hungry and corrupt.
