Specifically, Olympic pole vault champion Emmanuel Karalis, swimming champion Anna Ntountounaki, Paralympic cycling champion Nikos Papangelis, the Greek Women’s National Water Polo Team and KAE MAROUSI Chery, will have CrediaBank’s support.

CrediaBank athletes’ profiles
Emmanuel Karalis
Emmanuel Karalis has been involved in pole vaulting from a young age, following in his parents’ footsteps. In 2021 he participated for the first time in the Tokyo Olympics, finishing in 4th place. In the following years he showed impressive competitive improvement, breaking Greek records with jumps of 6.05m (indoor) and 6.08m (outdoor). In 2024 he won the bronze medal at the Paris Olympics. In 2025 he reached the podium in all major competitions, with a gold medal at the European Indoor Championships and silver medals at the World Indoor and Outdoor Championships. Now consistently jumping over 6 meters, he ranks No. 2 in the world and No. 4 all-time in the sport’s history.
His next major goal is to win another medal at the 2028 Los Angeles Olympics.
Anna Ntountounaki
Anna Ntountounaki is a distinguished swimmer with rich international and national achievements, as well as a significant academic career. She holds Greek records in the 50 and 100-meter butterfly and has represented Greece in three Olympics (Rio 2016, Tokyo 2021, Paris 2024), achieving top positions, with her best being 9th place in 2021. With significant distinctions in international competitions, she has won medals in Mediterranean Games, European Championships, as well as important positions in World Championships, culminating in 5th place at the World Championships in Doha 2024, while being the first and only Greek woman to be crowned European Champion in the sport. Additionally, she has developed a strong academic career, as she is a lawyer, graduate of the Law School of the National and Kapodistrian University of Athens and holder of a Master’s Degree from Queen Mary University of London in Commercial and Corporate Law. Today she is a PhD student at the University of Nicosia specializing in Sports Law and Human Rights, while simultaneously continuing her studies in the Department of Business Organization and Administration at the Athens University of Economics and Business.
Nikos Papangelis
Nikos Papangelis is a Paralympic cycling champion and member of Greece’s National Para-cycling Team since 2017. He competes in road and track events after amputation of his left leg due to cancer. In 2023 he won two silver medals at the European Championships and two bronze medals at World Cups. He has participated in the Tokyo 2021 and Paris 2024 Paralympics, finishing 6th and 4th respectively. His goal is to participate in the 2028 Los Angeles Paralympics and win his first Paralympic medal. Additionally, through the Wheels Of Will initiative, he actively supports the Floga club and children fighting cancer.
Women’s National Water Polo Team
The Women’s National water polo team won the silver medal at the 2004 Olympics. They became world champions in 2011 and 2025. They have celebrated gold medals in the World League in 2005 and World Cup in 2025. In European championships they have won four silver medals (2010, 2012, 2018, 2022) and one bronze medal in 2024 which was combined with qualification for the “Paris 2024” Olympics for the first time since 2008 (Beijing).
KAE Marousi Chery
KAE Marousi Chery represents one of the historic representatives of Greek basketball, with consistent presence and significant contribution to the sport. Their home is K.G. Agios Thomas. The team counts a total of 17 years of participation in Stoiximan GBL, the top national division, having recorded competitive runs in the Championship and appearances in final phases of the Greek Cup. Additionally, Marousi has participated in top European club competitions (EuroLeague, Saporta Cup, Korać Cup, Europe Cup), with the pinnacle being winning a European trophy in 2001, a success that confirms its enduring strength and distinctive mark on Greek and European basketball.
