Heavy criticism targeting Spanish Prime Minister Pedro Sánchez was launched by Elon Musk, with the billionaire responding to the former’s announcement that Madrid is preparing to ban social media access for young people under 16 years old, promising to protect children from the “digital wild west” and make tech companies accountable for harmful content.
Sánchez also criticized Musk for using X to “amplify misinformation” regarding his government’s decision last week to legalize 500,000 illegal immigrants and asylum seekers, noting that the South African billionaire himself is an immigrant.
“Dirty Sánchez is a tyrant and traitor to the people of Spain” Musk initially wrote, accompanying his post with a poop emoji.

He didn’t stop there, as he later wrote “Sánchez is the true fascist totalitarian”.

As Reuters reported, besides Spain, Greece is also close to announcing a similar ban for children under 15 years old.
The two countries appear to be following the example of countries like Britain and France in adopting a stricter stance against social media platforms, after Australia became the first country in December to ban access to such platforms for children under 16 years old.
