At 10 AM on Monday, two key suspects will enter the Kalamata Courthouse – the nephew of murdered Kostas Tomaras and a businessman from Kolonaki, both arrested on charges of moral instigation in the Finikounda double homicide.
Both men deny the charges, particularly the 32-year-old nephew of the “ammos” camping co-owner, claiming he could never commit such an act “because he deeply loved” his uncle. However, the Kalamata investigating magistrate charges him not only with moral instigation in the October 5 double murder but also with moral instigation in an attempted assassination two months earlier in early September. This refers to an attack carried out by an individual in the parking area of the property housing both the “Stadium” event hall and Kostas Tomaras’s luxury home, approximately one kilometer from the camping site.
Finikounda: Son of well-known businessman is third suspect in camping double murder
Police are also seeking another individual with an arrest warrant issued by the investigating magistrate for the Finikounda murders. The suspect is reportedly an associate of the café and store owner in Kolonaki and central Athens, and son of a prominent businessman. The young man is currently in Germany on scheduled vacation and is being sought by local authorities.
More arrest warrants expected in Finikounda case
Police handling the case don’t rule out the investigating magistrate issuing additional warrants, as persons of interest appear connected to the murders of Kostas Tomaras and the business supervisor. All evidence is being evaluated as authorities attempt to piece together the puzzle through phone conversations, messages, and witness statements collected to date. Notably, according to the magistrate’s reasoning for the arrest warrants, the actual killer of the two close friends appears to be the passenger of the white scooter, not the driver as previously believed.
