A politically charged question was put forward by parapolitika.gr editor-in-chief and “Sto Karfi” newspaper editorial director Christos Drouzias to PASOK leader Nikos Androulakis during his press conference at the Thessaloniki International Fair (TIF).
Two critical questions for the post-election landscape
Christos Drouzias went beyond the obvious, placing on the table one of the most pressing issues surrounding the post-election landscape: potential governing coalitions, as well as the personal accountability of the PASOK leader should the party fail to secure first place.
In a direct and pointed manner, he asked Nikos Androulakis to specify which political forces he would seek to form a government with, should PASOK win the election — given that the party has already ruled out all available coalition scenarios.
He also asked whether, in the event that PASOK falls short of the electoral benchmark Androulakis himself has set, the leader would take personal responsibility and submit his leadership to a membership vote — or whether he considers his position secure regardless of the outcome, through to the end of his term in autumn 2028.
In other words, the parapolitika.gr and “Sto Karfi” journalist pressed the PASOK leader to lay his cards on the table — not only regarding the post-election landscape, but also his own political future, should PASOK fail to meet the threshold Androulakis has publicly set for himself.
Androulakis responds
Nikos Androulakis made clear that PASOK is currently focused on the fight for political change, not personal strategies. He noted that the question of “who will you govern with?” dominated the previous election cycle. “We will fight and we will await the people’s verdict,” he stated firmly, adding that his party’s goal is to ensure that “every Greek citizen knows what PASOK is proposing and how our proposals can change their life and the lives of their families.”
