Prime Minister Kyriakos Mitsotakis has just arrived in Kastellorizo, beginning a three-day visit to the remote Aegean island, with the highlight being Sunday’s official ceremonies marking the 83rd anniversary of its Liberation.

According to the official programme, the Prime Minister will meet with the Mayor of Megisti, Nikolaos Asvestis, before touring infrastructure and development projects on the island. On Sunday, he will attend the formal commemorative events marking the 83rd anniversary of the Liberation of Kastellorizo. Parliament Speaker Nikitas Kaklamanis will also be present on the island, accompanied by Members of Parliament Manos Konsolas and Vasilis Ypsilantis. The Chief of the Hellenic National Defence General Staff, General Dimitrios Houpis, along with senior military officials from the armed forces leadership, are also expected to attend the ceremonies.
