The acceleration of procedures for the creation of Alexis Tsipras’ new political movement at his Amalia headquarters is accompanied by a series of other actions, such as the integration of PASOK officials who have left or are leaving Charilaou Trikoupi street to join forces with the former prime minister.
In this context, the departure of Deputy Justice Secretary Anna Papadopoulou from PASOK is said to be included, as she heads toward Amalia headquarters. On Monday, through an article in Efimerida ton Syntakton, she announced her departure from Charilaou Trikoupi street, citing ideological disagreements with Nikos Androulakis’ tactics. It should be noted that as a PASOK official, she had aligned herself with Charis Doukas’ side.
In her article, Anna Papadopoulou emphasizes that “it is obvious that the positions I express do not constitute the central direction in PASOK. With respect for the space, the comrades, my departure constitutes a consistent stance” and adds that “if there is a truly progressive path, it passes through the reconstruction of the space with terms of trust, starting from the base of society. Because society is not simply seeking declarations, it demands credibility, a clear plan and tangible prospects”.
Referring to the reasons that led to her departure from PASOK, she characteristically notes that “PASOK’s recent congress did not function as a real political process, capable of opening discussion on the above issues. There were no structured votes on texts, nor real depth in the coalition’s strategic choices. Instead, prefabricated correlations prevailed and a battle of mechanisms with the main goal of reproducing and strengthening the leadership group”.
Regarding the new officials who will represent the new political movement on television panels, the decision is first to have them participate in a… tutoring program on how they should handle their political opponents, and secondly they will enter the political battle.
Meanwhile, from Thessaloniki comes the name of former POTAMI MP Nikos Nyfoudis, as he is considered a particularly good case.
This evening, Alexis Tsipras will attend the presentation of the book “Giannis Boutaris: Politics Done Differently,” published by Patakis editions, together with Charis Doukas and Giannis Moralis. As can be understood, his presence there carries multiple messages, as the former prime minister
attempts to approach the Local Government space.
Many focus on the obvious, which is the coexistence of Alexis Tsipras with Charis Doukas on the same panel, with the logic that PASOK president Nikos Androulakis will be annoyed. Those who know how things stand at Amalia headquarters, however, see behind this move the former prime minister’s plan to approach Local Government people and gain serious support in a space where the Left is essentially non-existent.
