The leader of the main opposition party, Nikos Androulakis, used particularly harsh tones when commenting on Prime Minister Kyriakos Mitsotakis’s response during the pre-agenda debate at the political leaders level.

Androulakis against Mitsotakis: “He spoke like a psychologist”

“The Prime Minister of Greece was speaking like a regular at a coffee shop, like a psychologist… but certainly not as a prime minister. Leave the dreams aside, the only deceptive dreams are that you will remain prime minister after the next national elections. Can’t you make one comment about Dilian’s blackmail? He’s blackmailing the Greek prime minister like Nixon. Will you speak up?” he questioned.

He subsequently argued that the prime minister “is an Orban-esque figure of the Balkans who doesn’t implement the Council of State’s decision. Even Orban would be ashamed. Will you abolish the European Prosecutor’s Office with one law and one article? You have strategically chosen to go hand-in-hand with Karatzaferis’s boys…”.

“You come to oppose the opposition, not of 2026… But of 1980. The Mitsotakis family speaks about cronyism,” he emphasized, quoting words from the late Constantine Mitsotakis. “Does the Mitsotakis family speak about cronyism? Your appointments in line reach all the way to Brussels. We engaged in cronyism, your father said… Your own father has said it all,” Nikos Androulakis noted characteristically. “With my backing, no one took a single euro from the Greek people. With yours, they have robbed him blind, Mr. Mitsotakis,” he subsequently argued.

At another point, the PASOK president emphasized that “what do Mr. Zisis and Mrs. Adeilini have to say about the wiretapping decision? They archived it hastily.

After a three-week delay, the case file reached the Supreme Court Prosecutor’s Office. Greek justice must rise to the occasion. It must also call Mr. Dilian to present all the evidence that validates his claims”.

Furthermore, Nikos Androulakis commented sarcastically that the prime minister didn’t say “a word about Mr. Lazaridis. He’s your personal cronyism appointment. Will this man remain in the Ministerial Council? Unless you’re keeping him for his good looks.” Concluding, the leader of the main opposition reiterated that the country must be led to elections. “Without credibility there is no trust. You have none of that. Let’s go to elections then! Now, as quickly as possible,” Nikos Androulakis stressed.
