Cyprus “Santis” case: Greek minister claims fabricated conspiracy

Deputy Minister to the Prime Minister, George Mylonakis, speaks of an unprecedented conspiracy against him regarding the “Santis” case that is occupying the political life of Cyprus. Through his social media post, he denounces an organized conspiracy and speaks of “fabricated material”.

In detail, George Mylonakis states through his post that from the first moment an attempt was made to involve him in the case, he immediately turned to Greek Justice to identify those responsible. As he mentions, the references to his person are based on “fabricated material,” emphasizing that “the person heard impersonating me is not me and has no connection with me“.

At the same time, he refers to his communication with Makarios Drousiotis and points out that the case has already been brought to the attention of the Supreme Court Prosecutor through a criminal complaint against all responsible parties, aiming to investigate who is behind the “character assassination” against him.

“From the first moment that unknown individuals tried to involve me in this dark case that plagues Cyprus’s political life, I immediately turned to Greek justice to identify the perpetrators who, with false and slanderous claims and fabricated, alleged evidence, attempted to connect me with this case.

Any references to my person are based on clearly fabricated material which journalist and now candidate with Volt Cyprus party, Mr. Makarios Drousiotis, published without any reservation.

Three days ago, he published a video-recorded conversation of a Cypriot man who – obviously using very advanced technological methods – appears to be able to use my phone number, while it is clear from the voice alone that the person conversing is not me. In this new post, when the first lie collapsed, he states that the speaker is indeed not me, but allegedly some member of my personal security, which is also absolutely false.

A simple audio comparison of the voice heard with mine, as well as the bizarre content of the alleged conversation, reveal the unprecedented conspiracy against me. This is one of the elements I submitted before the Supreme Court Prosecutor along with my criminal complaint against all responsible parties, to investigate which dark centers fabricated and executed this character assassination against me, what games are being played and whom they serve.

Anyone who listens to my alleged conversation immediately recognizes the Cypriot accent of the person trying to impersonate me and it becomes clear that it is not me. Nor is it, and could not be, any member who allegedly served in my security, as no member of Cypriot origin ever participated. Therefore, without any doubt, the person heard impersonating me is not me and has no connection with me.

In this mud-slinging campaign against me, one lie follows another, but the truth is now coming to light from the very lawbreakers who released the aforementioned video recording which I have already brought to the attention of Justice, from which I expect to seek and find the physical and moral perpetrators of this sick fabrication that obviously targets not only me, but attempts through my institutional position to harm the Greek government as well.

When I was informed about Mr. Drousiotis’s first post, I immediately sent him a written message and contacted him by phone, explaining that I have no connection with the case, as I do not know any of the persons described in his post, while I was and remain unaware of the existence of strange and non-existent “brotherhoods”.

I thought that after our communication he would retract. However, not only did he not retract, but when the first lie collapsed, he returned with new lies, which were also republished in Greece. For this reason, I will take legal action against both him and those who attempt to harm my honor and reputation by reproducing his fabricated, sick and vulgar lies”.
