A serious domestic violence incident occurred just minutes after midnight on Friday (October 2) in the Lavreotiki area, leaving both a man and a woman seriously injured and hospitalized.
How the attack unfolded
According to reports, the incident took place at approximately 00:15 in a maisonette in the Kavodoakanos area, behind the Lavrion Technological and Cultural Park. A 32-year-old Romanian national allegedly traveled to the residence where his 32-year-old Greek ex-partner was staying with her current 33-year-old boyfriend.
According to the same reports, the 32-year-old allegedly smashed the maisonette’s glass door with a sledgehammer and forced his way inside. A violent confrontation followed, during which he allegedly attacked both his ex-partner and the 33-year-old man with a sharp object, leaving both of them seriously injured.
At the time of the incident, minor children were also present inside the residence.
Both victims in serious condition
The two victims were transported conscious to Asklepieion Hospital in Voula, where their condition has been described as serious.
In connection with the case, the 32-year-old foreign national was taken into custody by the Lavreotiki Crime Investigation Unit, while police authorities are continuing to investigate the exact circumstances under which the attack took place.
