A powerful severe weather system continues to batter Greece, bringing heavy rainfall, thunderstorms, and strong winds across multiple regions. On Saturday evening (26/9), the Hellenic National Meteorological Service (EMY) issued an updated severe weather warning bulletin for the country.

In detail, this Sunday (27/9), the Ionian Islands, Epirus, western Central Greece, Macedonia, and Thrace are expected to see partly cloudy skies with temporary increases in cloud cover and brief local showers.
The rest of the country will experience cloudy conditions with local rainfall and scattered thunderstorms as the main weather features. The phenomena, which will be locally intense over eastern Thessaly, the Sporades, Euboea, and possibly Crete, Boeotia, and Fthiotis, are expected to weaken from the evening onwards.
Northerly to northeasterly winds are forecast at force 4 to 6 Beaufort, with locally strong gusts reaching 7 to 8 Beaufort in the Aegean Sea. Temperatures will reach between 20 and 24°C across most areas, with locally higher readings of up to 26°C in western parts of the country.

The severe weather warning bulletin was updated on Saturday evening (26/9).
According to the update, the following are forecast for Sunday (27-09-2026):
1. Locally heavy rainfall, thunderstorms, and possible hail:
a. In eastern Thessaly (mainly Magnesia prefecture), the Sporades, Crete (mainly in the west), and the western Cyclades until the morning hours.
b. In Euboea until the afternoon hours.
2. Gale-force northeasterly winds of 7 to 8 Beaufort are expected to blow across the central and northern Aegean Sea.
