HYGEIA Hospital has been awarded the INTERACT-EUROPE GoldBadge — a prestigious European distinction granted by the European Cancer Organisation (ECO) — following the successful completion of the INTERACT-EUROPE 100 programme.
HYGEIA Hospital earns INTERACT-EUROPE GoldBadge for oncology care excellence
The programme was implemented at HYGEIA from September 2025 to March 2026, as part of a European quality improvement initiative focused on patient safety, interdisciplinary collaboration, and patient-centred care.
A multidisciplinary team of 14 HYGEIA professionals participated in the programme, comprising five trainers who completed the Train-the-Trainer course and nine participants from various fields of oncology care.
The initial Train-the-Trainer Event was hosted at HYGEIA in September 2025, followed by a series of training sessions, workshops, and hands-on activities — both online and in person — held in Greece, Spain, and Bulgaria. Through the observation of real clinical workflows and cross-specialty collaboration, participants strengthened their understanding of their respective roles, improved communication, and fostered teamwork, all with the shared goal of delivering safe, high-quality patient care.
In addition, the Train-the-Trainer model supports the preservation and dissemination of knowledge within HYGEIA, laying the foundation for similar training initiatives in the future.
Receiving the INTERACT-EUROPE GoldBadge represents recognition of the programme’s successful completion and marks another milestone in HYGEIA’s ongoing commitment to the highest standards of oncology care and enhanced patient safety.
