A life-saving intervention by a police officer in Heraklion proved crucial when the off-duty officer rescued a woman who had fallen victim to domestic violence by her husband. Specifically, according to cretaspot.gr, on Friday morning (03/10), the police officer noticed the screams of a woman coming from a house in a neighborhood of Heraklion, Crete. “Help, he’s going to kill me”, the 76-year-old woman was shouting.

It should be noted that the police officer, despite being off duty, rushed to investigate the incident after hearing the screams and panic of the victim. Indeed, he confirmed that her 82-year-old husband was subjecting her to verbal and physical abuse in front of their 37-year-old child, who has health problems. It is emphasized that the elderly man also attacked the police officer as soon as he saw him.
