A private aircraft jet disappeared while en route to Boston from the Bermuda, with six people on board, the U.S. Coast Guard announced. The Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) alerted the Coast Guard early Saturday morning that contact with the aircraft had been lost.

Search operation underway near Nantucket island off the coast of Massachusetts
The missing jet is a Gulfstream aircraft that was being used as an air ambulance, a Coast Guard spokesperson confirmed via email. The Coast Guard has deployed both air and surface crews to search for the aircraft near Nantucket, an island and municipality located off the southern coast of Massachusetts in the United States.
