A 62-year-old public service center director from Boeotia was sentenced to one month in prison, which she must serve, by the court. The woman had concealed her mother’s death and buried her in a makeshift grave in order to continue collecting her pension and benefits.

The case reached the Thebes court on Wednesday, October 1, 2025, where the defendant faced charges of perjury. The court decided to impose a one-month prison sentence.

Meanwhile, a preliminary investigation is ongoing under the prosecutor’s orders to determine whether there is evidence to substantiate charges of premeditated murder, as well as fraud against the state at the felony level.
