The €400 benefit is expected to be paid on November 30 to EFKA and Public Sector retirees over the age of 65, uninsured elderly individuals, disability benefit recipients, and widowhood pension recipients over the age of 60. However, the funds will begin appearing in accounts the previous working day, on November 27.
But what are the rules for eligible recipients in the Public Sector, OPEKA, non-OPEKA recipients, and military veterans regarding the €400 benefit? Regarding the Public Sector, the €400 benefit is granted, by exception, to active employees in General Government bodies who receive the quadriplegia-paraplegia benefit — either for themselves personally or for family members suffering from these conditions — through the Unified Payment Authority of the General Secretariat for Fiscal Policy.
€400 benefit: Payment scheduled for November 30
What are the rules for OPEKA benefit recipients and non-recipients?
The following OPEKA benefit recipients will receive the payment:
- Recipients of the uninsured elderly pension.
- Recipients of the social solidarity benefit for uninsured elderly individuals.
- Recipients of welfare provisions granted to persons with disabilities.
- Recipients of the total disability benefit for retirees of the former Agricultural Insurance Organization (former OGA), who receive only the basic OGA pension, provided they have a lifelong disability rate of 100%.
Eligible recipients outside OPEKA
Which non-OPEKA benefit recipients will receive the payment? These are recipients of the illness and incapacity benefit for Public Sector retirees and the extra-institutional benefit granted by e-EFKA.
For military veterans who are also recipients of various benefits, the following rules apply regarding the €400 benefit:
- Civil servants and military personnel in general who are entitled to a pension due to an injury that clearly and indisputably arose from their service, and who are entitled to an illness and incapacity benefit.
- War-disabled officers, warrant officers, and those assimilated or equivalent to them who are entitled to an incapacity benefit.
- Those who receive a pension due to paraplegia with ortho-cystic complications and are entitled to special supplementary incapacity benefits for severely war-disabled individuals.
- Those who receive a pension due to complete loss of vision in both eyes (totally blind), amputation of both upper limbs, or amputation of both lower limbs at or above the shin.
- Those who receive a pension due to spastic or hysterical paraplegia, complete loss of use of both upper limbs, or cranial trauma resulting in 100% incapacity.
- Recipients of tuberculosis or illness benefits.
- Those who receive a pension due to a war injury or illness resulting from the hardships of war and who have at any time suffered a reduction in their capacity to work of 100% due to loss of vision in both eyes, and who are entitled to a blindness benefit not attributable to their service.
- Recipients of a disability pension in their own right, who receive a basic monthly war incapacity pension recognized for war-disabled enlisted personnel and paid by the State.
