A nine-percentage-point lead for New Democracy over second-placed ELAS is recorded in the new opinion poll by Prorata, published today, Saturday, September 12, 2026, in Efimerida ton Syntakton. In voting intentions, New Democracy gathers 25.5%, while ELAS sits in second place with 16.5%, marking a one-point rise compared to the same company’s previous survey in July. PASOK ranks third at 9%, up half a point from the previous poll.

An upward trend is also recorded for Hellenic Solution at 8% and the Communist Party (KKE) at 6%. By contrast, Zoe Konstantopoulou’s Course of Freedom polls lower, while the party led by Maria Karystianou, “Hope for Democracy,” records a particularly modest score of 4.5%. According to Prorata’s findings, MeRA25 also clears the parliamentary threshold, registering at 3%.

Prorata poll: Citizens weigh up Mitsotakis and Tsipras — cost of living remains the number one concern
When asked whether the announcements made by Prime Minister Kyriakos Mitsotakis at the Thessaloniki International Fair (TIF) would be implemented, 17% of poll respondents said their daily lives would improve considerably or significantly, while 82% said they would improve little or not at all. Regarding Alexis Tsipras’s TIF announcements, 29% view them positively, while 69% view them negatively.
Furthermore, 38% said that a Mitsotakis government would deliver on almost all or many of its pledges, while 47% believe only a few or almost none would be fulfilled.
On the same question regarding a potential Tsipras government, 26% said that almost all or many of its announced policies would be implemented, while 59% said only a few or almost none would be carried out.
A striking 78% of citizens consider the cost of living the most pressing issue they face on a daily basis. This is followed by justice, corruption and transparency issues at 44%, low wages and working conditions at 25%, and healthcare at 21%.

To the question “which political leader do you trust most to serve as the country’s prime minister,” Kyriakos Mitsotakis gathers 27%, Alexis Tsipras 16%, Kyriakos Velopoulos and Nikos Androulakis 6% each, and Maria Karystianou and Zoe Konstantopoulou 4% each.
Finally, when asked “how likely are you to vote for a party led by Antonis Samaras at the next parliamentary elections,” 74% answered that it is “completely unlikely — out of the question,” 15% said “not very likely, but I wouldn’t rule it out,” 5% said “quite likely,” and 4% said “very likely.”
