Research director Antonis Papargysis spoke to Parapolitika 90.1 and the show “Απέναντι Μικρόφωνα” with Vasilis Skouris and Sotiris Xenakis about the trajectory of a potential party led by Antonis Samaras, against the backdrop of the GPO poll conducted for iefimerida. Papargysis noted that a potential Samaras party appears stronger compared to the previous June survey: the percentage of those saying it is “very likely” they would vote for it rose to 12.3% from 9.2%, while those saying they would actually vote for it reached 4.6%. He explained that this momentum comes primarily from voters of New Democracy (28% in the European elections), Greek Solution (9%), and Niki.
He commented that “voting for the Samaras party is a relatively easy option for New Democracy supporters” who want to send a message, noting that it is more of a personal choice, as Kyriakos Mitsotakis himself has not publicly positioned himself against the prospect of the potential party.

Papargysis noted that voting intentions remain relatively stable, with New Democracy and Alexis Tsipras’s party holding their percentages, while a downward trend is recorded for Maria Karystianou’s Elpida gia tin Dimokratia (Hope for Democracy) and for PASOK.
