The Freedom Festival has a triple dimension, as presented at the Athens Journalists’ Union (ESHIEA) on Monday afternoon by the leader of Course of Freedom, Zoe Konstantopoulou. The party had already announced that the event would take place on July 5th (8:00 PM) — a date that holds special significance for its members, marking both the 10th anniversary of the party’s founding and the “No” vote of the 2015 referendum. The festival will be held in Drapetsona (Lipasmaton Cultural Center, at the Grand Theatre), a distinctly working-class neighborhood of Athens.
Konstantopoulou spoke in the press room of the Journalists’ Union building about the symbolism behind the festival, which aims to make citizens active political participants. She also outlined the planned activities, collaborations, and surprises awaiting attendees. Joining her at the event was Jo Di, a social media content creator who will be presenting the show “Ai Sichtir” alongside musician Christina Koulakou. Also present was her father, Nikos Konstantopoulos. Notably, the press conference room was not full.
