Donald Trump: “Iran is eager for a deal”
Meanwhile, in a phone interview the day after his address, Donald Trump told TIME magazine that Iran is willing to make a deal to end the conflicts. “Why wouldn’t they call? We just blew up their three major bridges last night,” he said characteristically. “We’re destroying them. They say Trump doesn’t negotiate with Iran. I mean, it’s a pretty easy negotiation.”
He continued, claiming that Iran is “eager” to reach an agreement to end the war. “They are very tough and capable of enduring tremendous pain, and I respect them for that. The truth is they’re better at negotiations than they are at war.”
