Chaos erupted in the early hours of Sunday (13/09) in Anavyssos following a shooting incident at a beach bar. According to the latest reports, the notorious Albanian criminal Alket Rizai, a former associate of Vassilis Paleokostas, is believed to have been involved in the incident on Athens-Sounio Avenue, as reported by ertnews.gr.

According to the ertnews.gr report, police officers identified Alket Rizai as one of the individuals involved in the incident after analyzing CCTV footage later that afternoon. It is worth noting that the well-known criminal had been released on temporary leave from Domokos Prison.

The rapid response unit received a call reporting gunshots at the location at approximately 5:15 a.m. When officers arrived at the scene, they found no one present — only two shell casings and bloodstains.
Officers were later notified by the Kalyvia Health Center that two individuals had sought first aid there: a 20-year-old Greek man with a glass fragment wound to the ankle, and a 41-year-old Pakistani man with a through-and-through bullet wound to the calf. Both were questioned by police and were found to be employees of the establishment; however, they provided conflicting accounts of the incident — as did the owner of the business.
According to the same source, at some point during the night, after most of the customers had left, the owner turned down the music. At that point, Alket Rizai — who was present with two friends — went outside to the parking lot and began blasting music from their car. The owner stepped outside and confronted them, fearing the noise would attract a police call.
A physical altercation broke out, and several other people came out from the venue. At some point during the brawl, Rizai reportedly drew a weapon and loaded it. In response, an Afghan man — who had come out of the establishment and was possibly working as a security guard — also drew a firearm and opened fire in Rizai’s direction. The bullets ricocheted and struck two other employees of the business, injuring them.
Alket Rizai and his two companions fled the scene in their vehicle, as did the Afghan man, who is also being sought by authorities. In connection with the incident, the business owner has so far been arrested for making a false statement.
It should be noted that Alket Rizai was due to return to Domokos Prison by morning. Failure to do so will result in him being declared a fugitive — a development that has already prompted a full police mobilization.
