U.S. President Donald Trump, in a post on Truth Social, emphasized that despite most allied countries agreeing with Washington’s stance and believing that Tehran should under no circumstances acquire nuclear weapons, they said they do not wish to become involved in military operations against Iran in the Middle East.
Meanwhile, Trump claimed that American forces have dealt decisive blows to Iran, stating that the country’s navy and air force have been essentially destroyed, along with anti-aircraft and radar systems, while also mentioning the neutralization of leadership at multiple levels. “Having achieved such military results, we no longer need nor desire assistance from NATO countries — we never needed it,” he stated characteristically, extending the same position to countries like Japan, Australia, and South Korea.
Trump: I’m not surprised by our allies’ stance on Iran
The U.S. President emphasized that he is not surprised by the “allies'” stance, as he considers NATO a “one-way relationship” in which the United States spends hundreds of billions of dollars annually protecting other countries without receiving corresponding support in times of need.
In conclusion, he declared that as president of the United States – “the most powerful country in the world” – Washington “doesn’t need anyone’s help.”
Macron: We don’t participate in Strait of Hormuz operations, we didn’t choose this war
Emmanuel Macron conveyed that his country refuses to participate in “operations” in the Strait of Hormuz “under current conditions.” The French president confirmed France’s position in the Middle East war, stating that it “did not choose this war.”
“We do not participate in it and have a clearly defensive position, protecting our citizens while supporting our allies,” he argued.
Specifically, he expressed France’s readiness to take over the naval escort system in the Strait of Hormuz, provided that bombings have stopped.
