A new alarm was raised on Saturday afternoon (27/6) in Boeotia, as yet another wildfire broke out in the area of Petra, on a day marked by relentless fire fronts and extremely challenging weather conditions. The fire broke out shortly after 13:30 in a rural-forest area in Petra, Boeotia, with firefighting services mobilizing immediately and deploying significant forces to contain the blaze.
On the ground, 40 firefighters are operating alongside two infantry units from the 4th EMODE and 9 vehicles, while aerial support is being provided by three aircraft and one helicopter. Municipal water tankers are also participating in the operation.

The situation in the area is particularly demanding. According to the fire danger map, Boeotia is currently classified at danger level 4, while very strong winds are making firefighting efforts significantly more difficult.
New 112 alert in Boeotia: “Evacuate toward Livadeia”
As the fire front continued to develop, at 14:30 an emergency 112 alert was sent to all those in the Petra area, urging them to evacuate toward Livadeia and to follow the instructions of the authorities.

Throughout the operation, ESKEDIK is receiving continuous live footage from a drone equipped with both optical and thermal cameras, ensuring full real-time monitoring of the fire’s progression.
The Arson Crimes Investigation Unit for Boeotia has also been dispatched to the area to investigate the cause of the fire.
