We are at the midpoint of Great Lent. And the Church pauses for a moment… to reveal the Cross. On the third Sunday of the Fast, it is brought to the center of the church and the faithful are invited to venerate it.
In the middle of Lent, when the struggle becomes tiring, when fasting grows difficult, when the heart feels heavy… the Church shows the Cross and says: “Look. You are not alone.” Christ walked first on the path of pain, sacrifice, and humility. And He transformed it into a path of life.
That is why the Cross stands at the center of Lent like a cool tree offering shade to the weary traveler.
It gives us the strength to continue. Because the Cross is not the end of the story. After it… comes the Resurrection.
