New dimensions to the case of the disappearance of doctor Alexis Tsikopoulos in Crete are revealed by the testimony of a close friend, who sheds light on the final hours before he vanished without a trace. According to the friend, Alexis appeared stressed and disappointed with his daily routine at the hospital, however, in his estimation, he wasn’t the type of person who would disappear without a serious reason, while his mother makes a dramatic plea for him to be found “however he may be found”.
Alexis’s close friend, speaking on “Light in the Tunnel,” emphasized that he finds it impossible to believe the doctor disappeared voluntarily. “He was upset, he had his issues, like many people, but he wouldn’t do something crazy. It doesn’t add up… His car abandoned and he went and hid? I believe someone did something to him,” he said characteristically.
The conversations just before the doctor disappeared
In the conversations that are being revealed, Alexis Tsikopoulos spoke openly about his future and professional exhaustion. He complained about endless working hours, low wages, and the difficulty of getting time off for Christmas. In a message to his friend, he mentioned that he planned to take leave, resign, and take specialty exams in May, noting however that he didn’t have the money to open a medical practice.
His last presence in the friends’ group chat is recorded on the day of his disappearance. He read the messages, but never replied.
His mother’s shocking words: “Find him whatever it takes – End this ordeal”
Meanwhile, the missing doctor’s mother speaks with heartbreaking words. “Find him whatever it takes. End this ordeal. What I want is for him not to suffer anymore,” she says, describing the unbearable thought that her son might be alone, without food, exposed to the cold.
“It’s torture for all of us, but mainly for him. We don’t know where he could be,” she adds.
She reports that only the first two testimonies, near the spot where his car was found, were deemed credible by the authorities. Other statements, in Kalyves and Platania in Chania, were either questioned or not confirmed by camera footage.
Alexis’s mother publicly thanked Angeliki Nikolouli for her continuous effort and closed with words that summarize the family’s anguish: “Whether alive or dead, all I care about is finding him. End this ordeal”.
