Alexis Tsipras has shared behind-the-scenes moments from the first open dialogue between himself and members of the Greek Left Alliance (ELAS), which took place on Thursday (16/07). Tsipras described the first interactive session with ELAS members as the starting point of “a new way of operating,” placing emphasis on participation, dialogue, and the co-shaping of political positions. As shown in the video published by the former prime minister, turnout for the #ASKTsipras session was impressive, with numerous questions submitted — all of which received answers.

Alexis Tsipras: “Being right is not enough”
“The hardest truth is that it’s not enough to be right — you also have to know how to make your case. Being right is a tough thing,” Tsipras was heard saying during the meeting, citing Greek author Maro Douka.

In his post, the ELAS leader wrote: “Participation, dialogue, co-shaping of the Alliance’s positions.
The first interactive session with members of the Greek Left Alliance marks the beginning of a new way of operating for our party. Through questions, proposals, interventions, and dialogue, we are changing the way we do politics.”
