In a critical period for Ukraine, as peace plan processes intensify and the war-torn country’s future opens wide fields of confrontation, Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky sent his own message through a new video he uploaded from a region that Russia claims belongs to it and refuses to negotiate its non-annexation.
“Today I am in Kupyansk with our warriors who are doing tremendous work for Ukraine“ Zelensky writes in his X post, filming from the city in the region of war-torn Kharkiv. Ukrainian forces regained control of parts of the northeastern city of Kupyansk, as well as surrounding villages, as part of an operation that led to the encirclement of Russian troops, a Ukrainian military commander stated meanwhile.
In November, the Russian army had announced that it had completely captured Kupyansk. Ukraine had denied the claim, maintaining that the city had not changed hands and that battles continued.
“The Russians continue to claim Kupyansk” Zelensky emphasizes before adding that he visited the troops and congratulated them. “It is crucial that we achieve positive results on the front line so that Ukraine can achieve results in diplomacy as well. That’s exactly how it works” he emphasized.
“Today is exactly our day“ the Ukrainian president stressed at another point before concluding as follows: “Glory to Ukraine“.
Today, I am in the Kupyansk sector, with our warriors who are getting the job done for Ukraine here.
The Russians kept going on about Kupyansk – the reality speaks for itself. I visited our troops and congratulated them. Thank you to each and every warrior! I am proud of you!… pic.twitter.com/kraYEBSSai
