A new episode has emerged from the controversy surrounding the hi-tech glasses worn by Health Minister Adonis Georgiadis. On Friday afternoon, Mr. Georgiadis appeared in parliament to present an amendment related to the “Prolamvano” (Prevention) healthcare program. When opposition MPs spotted him sitting in the ministerial benches wearing his high-tech glasses, they responded with mockery — prompting Georgiadis to fire back, calling their views “technologically primitive.”

“I don’t know which glasses you used to study the amendment,” quipped PASOK’s parliamentary spokesperson Dimitris Mantzos with a touch of humor. Meanwhile, Plefsi Eleftherias MP Alexandros Kazamias sarcastically remarked: “He goes to the islands and gets booed — good thing he wasn’t wearing the glasses! You are violating the Constitution! Violating the Constitution is an even greater hobby of yours than tennis!”
Reactions to Adonis Georgiadis’ glasses continue to mount
Mr. Georgiadis launched a counterattack, stating: “PASOK’s reaction to my glasses was beyond all reason. PASOK is technologically and culturally primitive — they’ve surpassed themselves, it actually makes me laugh! And for Plefsi Eleftherias to raise concerns about someone potentially recording people, when their own leader records anyone who walks by and talks — well, even hypocrisy has its limits!”
He went on to predict that within a year, those who are currently criticizing him will have purchased the very same glasses themselves. He also revealed that he first considered getting them following the incident at Nikaia Hospital. “Back then, when I was physically attacked, everyone asked me for the video of the punch. From now on, I will wear my glasses — and whoever wants to insult me, spit on me, go ahead. They will be recorded!” he declared. Notably, the Health Minister also took aim at PASOK MP Panagiotis Doudonis, whom he dismissed as a “self-proclaimed, imaginary law professor.”
