The second part of the Marc poll was presented on Wednesday, July 1, 2026, on ANT1’s main evening news broadcast with Nikos Hatzinikolaou. According to the findings, the overwhelming majority of Greek citizens appear to favor holding new elections in a scenario where no party manages to form a majority government on its own. At the same time, those who support a coalition government show a preference for an alliance between PASOK and the Greek Left Alliance (ELAS).
New elections or a coalition government
The survey results show that 56.7% of respondents prefer holding a second round of elections when no outright majority emerges from the first electoral result. By contrast, 39% of those surveyed expressed a desire to see a coalition government formed between the parties.

Regarding specific coalition scenarios, 28.7% of citizens favor a parliamentary cooperation between PASOK, ELAS, and other smaller political parties. This is followed by 24.8% who prefer an outright majority government led by New Democracy, while 11.2% opt for a governing coalition between New Democracy and PASOK. A further 10.1% of voters support New Democracy joining forces with smaller right-wing parties, and 12.3% indicate a different preference.

When should the next elections be held
On the question of electoral timing, 49.6% of Marc poll respondents want the government to complete its full four-year term, with elections taking place in spring 2027. However, a significant 44.7% prefer snap elections to be called in the autumn.

Where do ELAS and Elpida voters come from
Research firm Marc also tracked the voter origins for the Greek Left Alliance (ELAS) and the Hope for Democracy (Elpida) party, revealing interesting data on shifts within the electorate.
The Greek Left Alliance attracts 57.5% of voters who had supported SYRIZA in the 2023 elections. An additional 10.5% come from MeRA25, 9.1% from Course of Freedom, 8.3% from PASOK, and 8.1% from the Communist Party (KKE), among other political backgrounds.

As for Hope for Democracy (Elpida), the party draws 45.6% of its voters from those who had chosen Niki in the 2023 elections. This is followed by 16.3% from Greek Solution, 16% from Course of Freedom, 7.5% from SYRIZA, and 5.7% from PASOK, according to the survey data.

Poll: A Samaras party would cut 1.5% from New Democracy
Analyzing the poll findings on a potential party led by Antonis Samaras, Marc CEO Thoma Gerakis noted that the damage it could inflict on New Democracy might “reach” 1.5%.
29% of respondents believe that Antonis Samaras should create a new party, while 60.2% answer “no” to the same question.

Some 12.4% say they would likely vote for a party led by the former prime minister (2.9% definitely yes, 9.5% fairly likely). Conversely, 86.3% say they would not likely vote for a Samaras party (66.4% definitely not, 19.9% probably not).

Of particular interest are the responses given by survey participants broken down according to their stated voting intention.
