Adonis Georgiadis shared on his personal Instagram account a post by Katrina Tsantali, founder of the well-known animal shelter, in which she describes in glowing terms her experience with doctors at KAT Hospital, where she needed to go for stitches on her hand.
Georgiadis shares Katrina Tsantali’s post about the National Health System
Specifically, in the post – which the Health Minister also shared, Katrina Tsantali praised the National Health System and particularly KAT Hospital, where she went after an accident. In particular, the founder of the animal shelter “A Little Shelter” and children’s book author needed to visit KAT for a cut on her hand and wanted to share her experience publicly. As she explains, in the past she had chosen almost exclusively private healthcare facilities, investing as she says in expensive insurance, however her view of the National Health System changed through personal experiences.

The post by the founder of “A Little Shelter”
“This isn’t the first time I’ve gone to a public hospital. And somehow after today’s 5th time in the last two years I want to write my thoughts. My whole life I ALWAYS went to private ones. I paid premium prices for insurance. My trust in the NHS has been built through real moments of need. From hospitalization at the Children’s Hospital when Aris hadn’t even turned one year old (we had first gone to a well-known private hospital and they were telling us one thing instead of another) to today’s stitches at KAT (I’m classic, I was doing 20 things at once, cooking and cut myself quite well like an idiot).”
In another part of her post, Ms. Tsantali characteristically states: “The service therefore, whether for the child or for me, was each time excellent. Doctors and nurses were most courteous and IMPECCABLE professionals. And really, even the rooms, like today in KAT’s emergency department, have nothing to envy from extremely expensive private facilities.”
