Serious felony charges have been filed against the 22-year-old accused of carrying out the violent attack in Elefsina.
The First Instance Prosecutor’s Office has charged him with attempted premeditated murder as a co-perpetrator, as well as illegal weapons carrying, weapons possession, and violations of firearms legislation.
The 22-year-old, who is reportedly linked to a neo-Nazi organization, voluntarily turned himself in to police on the previous evening. Today, the second suspect — the 18-year-old alleged accomplice who had remained at large — also surrendered to the relevant authorities. Both defendants have been referred to an investigating magistrate.

Eleftheria Tobatzoglou, one of the victim’s attorneys, spoke to Parapolitika 90.1 and journalist Julie Tsigka about the knife attack on a 32-year-old man in Elefsina, carried out by two young assailants whose behavior points to fascist motivations. The 32-year-old is currently receiving treatment at Tzaneio Hospital.
“The two perpetrators were waiting on a motorcycle outside our client’s home. When they saw him taking his dogs out for a walk, they attacked him — first verbally, saying ‘You’re a leftist and we are fascists.’ They demanded an explanation for the alleged publication of their personal details following a previous incident in the area. He denied any knowledge of this, but they attacked him anyway. Our client defended himself, at which point the older of the two attackers shouted to the other, ‘Slaughter him.’ Immediately, the other one stabbed the 32-year-old in the thigh, very close to the femoral artery, and attacked him again, this time aiming at the abdominal area. Our client continued to defend himself, and the attackers were forced to flee when a passing driver witnessed the incident and the blood, and took the 32-year-old to the Elefsina Health Centre, where it was determined that his injuries were very serious. He was subsequently transferred to Tzaneio Hospital.

Our client did not name the attackers, but they were identified shortly afterwards. One of them turned himself in after a day and a half and filed a false complaint against our client. The person who carried out the stabbing remains at large.

Evidence linking them to the fascist, neo-Nazi sphere was found at their homes. The issue is multifaceted, beyond the painful memories it brings back. Questions are being raised about the political promotion of senior figures within a criminal Nazi organization. We can see that some are once again attempting to frame this as a conspiracy. This must be stopped again. Fortunately, this time there were no fatalities. However, society and the potential voters of these groups must understand that all of these individuals are pursuing the physical elimination of their opponents. There can be no such thing as a… respectable neo-fascist organization, as was once suggested.
